My Favourite Quotes + Poems

Hi guys, It's me Dancing Tween,

Today I'm going to be showing you my favourite quotes and some poems. Hope you enjoy!

Quotes

I found all of these quotes by searching inspirational quotes on google and going into images.

This is my life... My story... My book.
I will no longer let anyone else write it;
nor will I apologize for the edits I make.
- Steve Maraboli

Don't Underestimate me. I know more than I say,
Think more than I speak,
and notice more than you realize.
- Unknown, I did not write this quote so I give credit to all the writers on all of these quotes.

Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself
- Coco Chanel

Poems

This one I wrote last year. It's a Haiku.

Butterflies

Butterflies flutter,
In the cold bitter wind, bright,
Colourful, and free.
- Dancing Tween

This one is by my favourite poet, Shel Silverstein.

Where The Sidewalk Ends

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rest from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

I hope you enjoyed my post,
Dancing Tween

P.s I may not be posting the next two weeks because I have a dance production, and rehersals coming up.

My New Year's Resolutions for 2019

Happy New Year!          Sorry for my extremely long break. School has been busy, and I never really had any ideas. But now I am (hopefully) back and ready to post. Well, let's get started with my resolutions!          My first resolution is to eat healthier. I will admit, I eat a lot of junk food, but this year (and beyond) I want to cut back on sugar and make it a habit to eat more fruits and vegetables.          My next resolution is to grow and improve as a dancer, that means work really hard in class, work on increasing my flexibility, and learning and teaching my self new moves, as well as making better choreography. I also have fun and exciting news! I'm taking a ballet exam this year! It was one my goals this school/dance year.          Another resolution is to read more books. I like to read but I haven't really read ...

Book Review- To Kill a Mockingbird

Hi guys, Today I'm going to be doing a book review on the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Did I enjoy it?  YES! I really enjoyed reading this book, it was a good story and really made me think. This book is pretty thick and I read it starting in or around the month of January and I just finished on Tuesday. I really wanted to keep reading every time I put it down.  This book is a classic and was originally published in 1960. This book has two parts and is 31 chapters long.  This book uses a bad word frequently so if you don't understand or you're younger make sure you know that word is unacceptable. The Main Characters The main characters are Jean-Louise Finch (also called Scout)and Jem Finch. They appear the most in the book. This book was told in first person point of view. (Told by Scout) My Rating I give this book 4 and a half stars. It's a very good book to read, I truly recommend this book. I hope you enjoyed reading this book review. ...

Summer Dance Practice Tips!

Hi guys, Sorry I haven't been posting for 4 weeks. I have had the end of dance, school and my family went on vacation. So with all that aside, let's begin.  Today, I am going to be sharing some tips on getting summer dance practice in. My dance starts in September and ends in June so I have the whole summer off. I also start again most times a level higher. So here is some advice to help you  practice all summer break.  1. Stretching and conditioning      One thing you can do is stretch and keep your body strong. I own a yoga mat so I use it regularly to stretch and warm up if I am practicing, choreographing or doing improv. I am also doing pushups daily to work on strength. This is a good tip to boost your skills next year.  2. Improv  I improv on a regular basis. If you don't know what improv is it's freely dancing to music, it's not choreographed. I find this helps me with musicality and feeling happy. It helps when I'm choreogra...
