Get to Know Me!

Happy June!

Hi guys it's me Dancing Tween,

Today I'm going to do a get to know me post. Let's get started.
Here are some basic facts about me:
My favourite show: Gilmore Girls or Project MC2
My favourite animal: a Wallaby or Dog
My Pet: I have a cute almost two year old dog named Abby. She's a Goldendoodle.
Do I speak another Language? Yes I speak French.

As you can figure out I am a dancer. I have been dancing since I was almost four. I started at a camp and then started classes. I have been at the same studio ever since I started dancing. I am not a competitive dancer I only do a production at the end of the year and if I can, do exams. I have taken 2 exams in the same style. I take Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop currently. Another thing I love to do is write and read, my favourite author is Wendy Mass or Collin Meloy. My favourite book is so hard to choose but I love The Candymakers by Wendy Mass, Wildwood By Collin Meloy and a lot more. This year I participated in Silver Birch, which is an awards thing where you read books by nominated authors and choose your favourite, the author with the most votes win. I don't know if that makes sense, it's really hard to explain. The next thing I love to do is art. I like to paint, colour, draw decorate and more.

I hope you enjoyed my get to know me post, see you soon,
Dancing Tween

Book Review- To Kill a Mockingbird

Hi guys, Today I'm going to be doing a book review on the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Did I enjoy it?  YES! I really enjoyed reading this book, it was a good story and really made me think. This book is pretty thick and I read it starting in or around the month of January and I just finished on Tuesday. I really wanted to keep reading every time I put it down.  This book is a classic and was originally published in 1960. This book has two parts and is 31 chapters long.  This book uses a bad word frequently so if you don't understand or you're younger make sure you know that word is unacceptable. The Main Characters The main characters are Jean-Louise Finch (also called Scout)and Jem Finch. They appear the most in the book. This book was told in first person point of view. (Told by Scout) My Rating I give this book 4 and a half stars. It's a very good book to read, I truly recommend this book. I hope you enjoyed reading this book review. ...

My New Year's Resolutions for 2019

Happy New Year!          Sorry for my extremely long break. School has been busy, and I never really had any ideas. But now I am (hopefully) back and ready to post. Well, let's get started with my resolutions!          My first resolution is to eat healthier. I will admit, I eat a lot of junk food, but this year (and beyond) I want to cut back on sugar and make it a habit to eat more fruits and vegetables.          My next resolution is to grow and improve as a dancer, that means work really hard in class, work on increasing my flexibility, and learning and teaching my self new moves, as well as making better choreography. I also have fun and exciting news! I'm taking a ballet exam this year! It was one my goals this school/dance year.          Another resolution is to read more books. I like to read but I haven't really read ...

Summer Dance Practice Tips!

Hi guys, Sorry I haven't been posting for 4 weeks. I have had the end of dance, school and my family went on vacation. So with all that aside, let's begin.  Today, I am going to be sharing some tips on getting summer dance practice in. My dance starts in September and ends in June so I have the whole summer off. I also start again most times a level higher. So here is some advice to help you  practice all summer break.  1. Stretching and conditioning      One thing you can do is stretch and keep your body strong. I own a yoga mat so I use it regularly to stretch and warm up if I am practicing, choreographing or doing improv. I am also doing pushups daily to work on strength. This is a good tip to boost your skills next year.  2. Improv  I improv on a regular basis. If you don't know what improv is it's freely dancing to music, it's not choreographed. I find this helps me with musicality and feeling happy. It helps when I'm choreogra...
