Short Stories

Hey Guys,

Long time no see! Happy holidays! I have been busy for a while and now that it's winter break I can blog more. I probably won't be following a posting schedule so my posts will be at random times on random days. I might, might  do a Christmas gift haul so stay tuned. Without further ado lets get started.

Today I'm going to share two short stories I wrote doing a prompt a day. I wrote these stories on the 20th and 21st of December. I got these prompts from the seventh sanctum writing prompt generator linked here . Enjoy!
 Story 1:
Prompt: The river is her friend.

We never really understood Sadie. She was just different. I never really understood her until we became friends.

Sadie was only at school Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We never knew why. Sadie was alone all of the time, I was her only friend or so I thought. Sadie approached me on a gloomy Monday morning. "Rory, meet me after school down by the river. Don't not come." she said and then walked away. " Oh, Strange Sadie talked to you!" my friends mocked. "Be quiet!." I muttered. After school I met Sadie by the river. "Hello, I have something to show you. Grab my hand." her magical voice commanded. I skeptically grabbed her hand. She jumped straight into the river. I screamed. "Calm down! The river is my friend." Those words echoed in my head as we reached a magical world. "Welcome to my home."

Story 2:

Prompt: The awful man was giggling that was the problem.

I was walking along the main road on a chilly winter's night. Everyone was bundled in a thick coat, well everyone except the lone boy who walked the streets. I was the lone boy.  I approached a mob of people. "Hello, does anyone have an extra coat." My voice was drowned by the chattering of fortunate men and women. I walked over to a man into his cellphone. "Please can I have a coat?" I said. The man put his phone down.  He started laughing, loudly. "Sorry, young boy. I don't want to give anything to you. I'll call the cops if you don't walk away." He turned up his nose I walked away. I stopped. I turned around. "Um, why would you call the cops? What. Do you think I would steal something from you? I just want a coat because it's cold. And you can have all the coats you..." I was cut off. "Get away from me you disgusting boy!" the man yelled.  I walked away. The man stood up. I turned around. "And you sir, are selfish."

See you next time! Hope you enjoyed.

My New Year's Resolutions for 2019

Happy New Year!          Sorry for my extremely long break. School has been busy, and I never really had any ideas. But now I am (hopefully) back and ready to post. Well, let's get started with my resolutions!          My first resolution is to eat healthier. I will admit, I eat a lot of junk food, but this year (and beyond) I want to cut back on sugar and make it a habit to eat more fruits and vegetables.          My next resolution is to grow and improve as a dancer, that means work really hard in class, work on increasing my flexibility, and learning and teaching my self new moves, as well as making better choreography. I also have fun and exciting news! I'm taking a ballet exam this year! It was one my goals this school/dance year.          Another resolution is to read more books. I like to read but I haven't really read ...

Book Review- To Kill a Mockingbird

Hi guys, Today I'm going to be doing a book review on the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Did I enjoy it?  YES! I really enjoyed reading this book, it was a good story and really made me think. This book is pretty thick and I read it starting in or around the month of January and I just finished on Tuesday. I really wanted to keep reading every time I put it down.  This book is a classic and was originally published in 1960. This book has two parts and is 31 chapters long.  This book uses a bad word frequently so if you don't understand or you're younger make sure you know that word is unacceptable. The Main Characters The main characters are Jean-Louise Finch (also called Scout)and Jem Finch. They appear the most in the book. This book was told in first person point of view. (Told by Scout) My Rating I give this book 4 and a half stars. It's a very good book to read, I truly recommend this book. I hope you enjoyed reading this book review. ...

Summer Dance Practice Tips!

Hi guys, Sorry I haven't been posting for 4 weeks. I have had the end of dance, school and my family went on vacation. So with all that aside, let's begin.  Today, I am going to be sharing some tips on getting summer dance practice in. My dance starts in September and ends in June so I have the whole summer off. I also start again most times a level higher. So here is some advice to help you  practice all summer break.  1. Stretching and conditioning      One thing you can do is stretch and keep your body strong. I own a yoga mat so I use it regularly to stretch and warm up if I am practicing, choreographing or doing improv. I am also doing pushups daily to work on strength. This is a good tip to boost your skills next year.  2. Improv  I improv on a regular basis. If you don't know what improv is it's freely dancing to music, it's not choreographed. I find this helps me with musicality and feeling happy. It helps when I'm choreogra...
